During a meeting with H.E. Amb. Dr. Abdulsalam AlMadani, PAM Roving Ambassador for the GCC Region and Chairman of DIHAD Sustainable Humanitarian Organisation, His Holiness Pope Francis, Head of the Catholic Church, commended the DIHAD Sustainable Humanitarian Organisation for its philanthropic and humanitarian role in healthcare, education, and support to patients and healthcare professionals worldwide. His remarks underscored the organization’s contributions, particularly in aiding refugees and supporting small to medium-sized youth projects, fostering collaboration among humanitarian organizations through the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid & Development Conference & Exhibition – DIHAD and the associated annual workshops, all held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
His Holiness Pope Francis emphasized the pivotal role played by the United Arab Emirates under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, in extending support to people worldwide irrespective of their colour, religion, or ethnicity where the UAE has emerged as a key provider of humanitarian aid, offering assistance to those in need during times of crises and disasters.

His Holiness also commended the upcoming Dubai International Humanitarian Aid & Development Conference & Exhibition (DIHAD) in April, where he assured that the Vatican will be present in DIHAD this year through Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital, and the Human Fraternity Foundation in Rome and Egypt, under the mutual agreement signed between Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital and DIHAD Sustainable Humanitarian Organisation.
Moreover, His Holiness reiterated his support for the collaboration between UCAM Catholic University of Murcia in Spain and the DIHAD Humanitarian College, which offers an innovative master’s degree program in Sustainable Humanitarian Action. In addition, DIHAD Humanitarian College in collaboration with DIHAD Sustainable Humanitarian Organisation provides scholarships to the beneficiary students.
His Holiness the Pope, congratulated the students of the first and second batches who will graduate next April in a graduation ceremony set to take place alongside the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid & Development Conference & Exhibition—DIHAD.
