30th milestone edition closes with record 80,000+ visitors from 192 countries and AED 22 billion in deals

DUBAI, UAE  |  January 22, 2026  (WAM)

The UAE International Dental Conference and Arab Dental Exhibition (AEEDC Dubai) has concluded its landmark 30th edition, capping three decades of global leadership in dentistry with the announcement of Dubai Dental Week — a first-of-its-kind, city-wide strategic initiative set to debut in January 2027. Backed by Dubai Economy and Tourism (DET) and the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), the new annual programme aims to unite the entire dental ecosystem, from clinicians and academics to patients and the general public, under a single, integrated platform spanning the whole of Dubai.

30th Edition Sets New Records

This year’s AEEDC Dubai attracted participants from 192 countries and featured 5,860 global brands represented by 4,316 exhibiting companies, showcasing the latest technologies, equipment, and medical supplies in the field of dentistry. The event generated over AED 22 billion in direct and indirect business deals — a figure that underscores Dubai’s growing stature as a global hub for the dental industry.

Over the past three decades, AEEDC Dubai has evolved from a regional meeting into a globally recognised dental gathering, serving as a key convergence point for clinicians, academics, manufacturers, and policymakers. The next edition is scheduled for January 19 to 21, 2027.

Introducing Dubai Dental Week 2027

During a press conference held on the final day of AEEDC Dubai 2026, organisers announced that the inaugural edition of Dubai Dental Week will be held from January 16 to 22, 2027, across multiple locations throughout the city. The initiative is planned as an annual event going forward.

Conceived as a complementary extension of AEEDC Dubai, the programme aims to broaden engagement by combining professional scientific activities with public-facing initiatives designed to promote oral health awareness and education. Within Dubai Dental Week, AEEDC Dubai 2027 will serve as the flagship professional event, running from January 19 to 21, 2027, continuing its role as the world’s premier dental exhibition and scientific conference.

Planned activities span professional meetings, educational sessions, and outreach programmes, alongside awareness campaigns hosted in dental clinics, hospitals, schools, shopping malls, government departments, and corporate offices throughout Dubai. A key public-facing component will be a clinic festival offering discounted dental treatments, free consultations, and special packages — covering everything from routine cavity fillings and root canal treatments to advanced cosmetic procedures such as veneers, teeth whitening, and smile makeovers.

Key Statements

“We are proud to launch this landmark event in Dubai, which represents a transformative step for the global dental industry. Dubai Dental Week is set to unite the entire dental ecosystem — professionals, educators, innovators, and the public — through a citywide platform that promotes knowledge sharing, advanced education, and innovation-driven practices.”

— H.E. Amb. Prof. Dr. Abdulsalam AlMadani, Chairman of AEEDC Dubai and the Global Scientific Dental Alliance (GSDA)

Mohamed Al Mheiri, Director of the Health Tourism Department at the Dubai Health Authority, highlighted the initiative’s strong community outreach focus, noting that awareness activations would extend well beyond clinical settings: “In shopping malls, schools, government departments, and corporate offices — awareness activities will happen everywhere,” he said, emphasising particular attention to children and young residents.

The announcement was also made in the presence of Ahmed Aljumairi Almheiri, Director of Dubai Business Events (part of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment within the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism), and Dr. Nikolai Sharkov, President of FDI World Dental Federation.

Dubai’s Dental Market and Medical Tourism Landscape

Dubai Dental Week arrives at a moment of significant expansion for the sector. According to a 2024 market report, the UAE dental market is projected to reach US$318 million by 2030, growing at a compound annual rate of 7.4%, driven by rising health awareness, government preventive care initiatives, and robust medical tourism demand.

Dubai currently hosts 1,353 dental facilities supported by 4,651 licensed dentists and more than 1,000 allied dental professionals, according to the Dubai Health Authority. On the medical tourism front, the city welcomed 691,000 medical tourists in 2023, of whom 29% sought dental care — making dentistry the top medical tourism specialty in Dubai. Advanced aesthetic procedures such as veneers, whitening, and smile makeovers remain the primary drivers of international demand.
