AEEDC Dubai 2023 Concludes with $4.7 Billion Worth of Trade Deals

The UAE International Dental Conference and Arab Dental Exhibition – AEEDC Dubai 2023, concluded with great success and continues to hold its global distinction as ‘The Largest Annual Scientific Dental Conference and Exhibition in the World,’ bringing together the most prominent and expert dentists, technicians, and leading brand-name companies in the sector.
The 27th edition of AEEDC Dubai achieved record-breaking trade and business deals amounting to a value of over $4.7 billion, as the event brought together several international companies to conclude joint deals and investments where the most vital and advanced technological advancements in the field of oral and dental health were presented.
AEEDC Dubai contributes significantly to the development of the global dental industry by bringing together specialists from various dental specialties from around the world. The exhibition featured over 4,800 brands from 3,600 companies in the oral and dental health industry, with 70% of them being international. This year’s edition featured 10 dedicated country pavilions that included South Korea, Italy, Brazil, Türkiye, Germany, Russia, Switzerland, Spain, China, and France, where they showcased their most popular products. H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Academic Health Corporation and Chancellor of the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, officially inaugurated AEEDC Dubai 2023 while accompanied by H.E. Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority; H.E. Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism; H.E. Lt. General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, Dubai; H.E. Amb. Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Executive Chairman of the AEEDC Dubai and Global Scientific Dental Alliance, and Chairman of INDEX Holding; Dr. Amer Ahmad Sharif, CEO of Dubai Academic Health Corporation and President of Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences; and several international dignitaries and dental industry professionals. The presence and support of such prominent health industry professionals within the UAE symbolize the imprint that AEEDC Dubai has within the country.

H.E. Amb. He also thanked South Korea – this year’s Guest of Honour country, which made a distinctive imprint that reflected in the exhibition.
Guest of Honour
South Korea was the Guest of Honour at AEEDC Dubai 2023. Korean businesses have a long history of participation at AEEDC Dubai dating back to 2008, starting with only nine companies, and steadily increased over the years to now feature more than 130 companies participating annually.
H.E. Byung-Jun Moon, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, expressed his gratitude: “We are grateful to INDEX Holding, INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions, and the organising committee for this incredible honour. We were thrilled to be the Guest of Honour country this year, as dentistry is a highly regarded industry and profession globally. Notable Guests and Achievements at AEEDC Dubai
The second day of AEEDC Dubai continued to receive notable guests that included H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Academic Health Corporation, where they were briefed on the advancements, solutions, and breakthrough research pertaining to oral health and dentistry while touring the exhibition halls.
The activities of the second day of the AEEDC Dubai Conference also included the 20th annual meeting of the Global Scientific Dental Alliance – GSDA, which includes more than 334 members representing more than 167 international medical organizations from hospitals, academic institutions, dental unions, international medical ministries, and several public and private sectors.
Among the most prominent recommendations discussed by the members this year were the promotion of the integration of oral health with primary health, the development of treatment methods and medical care by providing the necessary training and education, and the determined efforts of all member bodies and organizations of GSDA towards a common goal to develop and enhance the quality of public health at the global level through the Ocean Initiative which is from Emirates to the World. Professor Abdullah Al Shammery, Scientific Chairman of GSDA and Chairman, Board of Trustees at Riyadh Elm University, stated: “The 20th meeting of the Global Scientific Dental Alliance proved that there are no limits to the development of the dental and oral health sectors, so they remain to be the most advanced and distinguished. This annual meeting seeks to emphasize the importance of this global event that supports continuing education and scientific research.”
Scientific Program
AEEDC Dubai 2023 continued to host several scientific lectures presented by some of the most prominent names in the dental field. The conference included specialised talks from 110 expert speakers, training courses, workshops, scientific posters, and student competitions showcasing research and case studies. The lectures discussed many key and important topics such as restorative dentistry and facial cosmetic procedures, and how artificial intelligence contributed to moving the world of dentistry into the future through new and advanced technologies that ensure the ease and flexibility of the patient’s treatment journey.
The large international turnout from various medical services presented access to new methods of diagnosing diseases and treating patients in an effort to provide them with the best possible medical care.
Dental Business Hub
AEEDC Dubai 2023 featured a Dental Business Hub, which is a platform exclusively designed for senior-level decision makers from distributors, hospitals, dental clinics, and importers with direct purchasing powers to connect with the industry leaders from across the globe and source the most innovative products and services efficiently. This year’s edition witnessed more than 200 participants from over 150 countries involved in more 600 pre-arranged meetings. Hub was a good initiative by the organizing team. This has given us the opportunity to meet and discuss business proposals with different manufacturers and come to distributor agreements. This year, AEEDC Dubai also supported startup companies specialized in the manufacture of dental products and tools that are still in their beginning stages. AEEDC Dubai supported 12 startups from the UAE, South Korea, USA, Lebanon, Singapore, and Turkey.
AEEDC Dubai 2023 also featured the popular AEEDC Dubai Stars, a two-day event attended by celebrities, influencers, and prominent personalities from the Arab world. The event included discussions, inspirational stories, and competitions for dentists and medical students in various specialities.
